Hallelujah Concert

On Monday 13th December, 35 members of St Patrick's Parish Choir had the opportunity to go to the RDS to sing in the 'Hallelujah Concert'. The parish choir is made up of children from both the Junior and Senior schools as well as other children from the parish. The 'Hallelujah Concert' is a concert where thousands of children come together from all over the country to create an enormous choir. The High Kings also sang at the concert and the children helped them sing 'The Fields of Athenry'. 'Step it out Mary' and 'Ireland's Call'. The children also sang many other songs including a Michael Jackson tribute, a pop medley, a showband medley and an 80s medley. The children put a lot of work into preparing for the concert including making a banner with Ms Byrne. They brought this with them so that the parents in the audience could see where they were. We also brought the Junior School's school flag. The day of the concert they went to McDonalds on their way to the RDS and when they arrived at the RDS they had a lot of rehearsing to do before the audience arrived and the concert began. Ms Kane and Ms Breen went with them and were delighted with how all the children behaved and performed. A great day was had by all!
Have a look at the music page to listen to some songs and for lots more photos. The link is on the right.
