Patsy has retired from working as the caretaker in the Junior school. We have been so lucky to have worked with him. We wish him all the best in his retirement.

Carol Service

The school held its annual Christmas Carol Service in the hall. The children sang Away in a Manger beautifully. We were very grateful to a group of parents who played and sang for us. We hope they come back and sing again soon.

Christmas Shows

Once again this year, the Christmas shows were a great success. The school is full of very talented children. Many thanks to all the teachers and staff for their hard work in preparing the shows.

WOW day

As you may be aware, we are currently working towards our 4th green flag which is the 'travel' flag. We are teaching the children about ways to travel and which are the best for the environment.
Every Wednesday we encourage children to walk or cycle to school or even carpool with someone else. This is called 'WOW' day.
We really need your support behind us to achieve this flag, as you ultimately are the ones who decide how your child travels to school.
We will keep you updated on how we are getting on and the green school committee would like to thank you in advance for your much needed support.

The Bodhrán Makers came for a visit today.  Junior and Senior Infants got a chance to listen to irish music, and to play the bodhrán.  We learned how to hold the bodhrán, and we tried to follow the beat.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Bhí craic mór againn le haghaidh Seachtain na Gaeilge i Scoil Phádraig i mbliana.  Bhí spórt agus spraoi againn go léir!  Bhí a lán Gaeilge á labhairt againn i rith na seachtainne.  Bhí raidió SnaG á chraoladh gach lá.

Bhí ceolchoirm ar siúl sa halla ar an Aoine.  Chan na páistí amhráin agus chan na múinteoirí amhrán freisin.  Bhí páistí ag damhsa rince gaelach, agus bhain siad an-taitneamh as féachaint ar na múinteoirí ag damhsa.

Ghlac na páistí ó Rang 2 páirt i dTráth na gCeist.  Breath súil ar na bpictúirí thíos:

Catholic Schools Week & Grandparents' Day

As part of Catholic Schools Week, we are celebrating Grandparents' Day on Friday 3rd February 2012.  We want to honour and celebrate the important role grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren.

All grandparents of children in Junior Infants and Senior Infants have been invited to the school hall at 11am for coffee and some home bakes.  Following that, we will have a short prayer service to honour and celebrate our grandparents.

After this service, grandparents and children will then go to their classes, where the children will sing a few songs and recite a few poems.

We would really welcome as many grandparents as possible at this celebration.  Please let us know if you can make it.

Thank you
